Christmas evening after the last party at my grandmother's, my oldest child comes to me and says the same thing he's said since he was four years old. "Mom, it's so sad it's over. All the prep leading up to it and it's gone. I'm sad, Mom." He does. He says this every year. But, he's not alone. Don't we all enjoy the highs from the holidays.
For us, we love making presents, thinking of that special thing that will bring a smile to someone's face, baking cookies and goodies, the homemade family nativity scene and impromptu play honoring Jesus' birth that the youngest kids put together. That's what WE love about the holidays anyway. We make the most of each moment with family and friends counting each blessing along the way. Then, it's over til next year.
But, it doesn't have to be right? Take a little CHRISTmas spirit with you each day throughout the year. Joy!
